Young Musicians Program

The Young Musicians Program gives emerging artists in the Okanagan Valley a unique experience to work with experienced professionals in a studio environment.

The Young Musicians Program

Are you ready to join a band? Music City Studio is excited to announce that we'll be launching  the Young Musicians Program on January 19th, 2016. The application process is now open, so apply today! Request your application form by sending an email to

About the program:

The Young Musicians Program is designed to inspire emerging young artists in the Okanagan Valley. The program will provide mentorship with experienced professionals,  weekly rehearsal sessions in our studio, recording time, access to career workshops and performance opportunities.

The young musicians will set goals as a band and implement a strategy with a mentor to reach those goals. The group's mentor and producer will assist the group in learning and writing new songs, recording a demo and a single, creating a website and EPK (electronic press kit) and will also walk them through the steps of getting gigs and becoming successful working musicians. This program is largely hands-on and students will be encouraged to step outside of their comfort zones, create industry contacts, book their own gigs and take their hobby to the next level. The 16 week after school program runs from January 19th, 2016 and ends on May 3rd.

Who can apply?

All musicians, singers and songwriters between the ages of 14 to 18. From the list of applicants, we'll select and create a band that will work together over the 16 weeks and hopefully continue as a band from that point on. We'll be selecting musicians based on their current skill level, their willingness to expand and work with others as a team. We'll also be considering the interests and genre preferences of each musician in hopes of creating a band that shares common ground.

The cost of this program is $200/month and there are no registration fees or additional costs.
